Sustainability & Environmental Management

The forests that surround the Dryden Mill are the foundation of our operations and sustainably managing these forests is a core guiding principle for Dryden Fibre Canada. Our sustainable forest management practices are guided by the best available science and consider that the decisions we are making today, impact the generations of tomorrow.  Our thoughtful approach in managing the resources around us will ensure our legacy continues.

We voluntarily certify our forests and facilities to independent third party certification standards  such as the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) as well as the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification™ (PEFC™). These certification standards verify to consumers that the tissue, paper and wood products they use in their homes every day originate from well managed and sustainable lands like the Wabigoon and Trout Lake Forests.

With over 100 years of sustainable management, we continually demonstrate our success and our commitment to sustainability. For reports related to, and required by, the certification systems please contact us!

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS)

Our Environmental Management System (EMS) is at the heart of our sustainable practices. Our EMS policies establish mandatory behaviors and expectations for our employees, contractors, and  overlapping license holders who work on the forests that Dryden Fibre Canada manages. Our three core environmental principles are:

 - CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE

- OBEY THE LAW -

- PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT -

Abbreviated, we use the acronym "COP". By following these principle we are committed to legislative compliance, independent third party forest certification as well as safe and sustainable forest practices, all while respecting Indigenous and Treaty Rights.
